The rights of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender persons are quite extensive in Luxembourg, as in many Western European countries. The decriminalization of homosexuality in Luxembourg was pronounced in 1794. In 1992 the age of consent was 16 years (Article 372 of the Criminal Code) .The country legalizes same-sex civil union in 2004 and the law allowing same-sex marriage is passed on 18 June 2014, making it the eleventh European country to legalize it.
